I recently moved to a location about 2 hours away from where I lived. The move occurred due to a well anticipated job change, and so I thought I planned everything ahead and things should line up nicely.

Well, doesn’t Universe go out of its way to make sure things don’t go according to plan, whenever you think you nailed it? So it did again, and I had a few last minute hiccups, as well as somethings that went ever so conveniently well.

I am pleased to say, however, that people helped me out around every corner. I dropped guard number of times, because I could not afford to have the guard up. I only experienced some eye opening moments, where I literally stopped in my path and said to myself that I might live in Australia I so yarned to live after all. People were casual, down to earth, and helpful. They were ridiculously trusting of another’s goodness, and I actually reminded one of the guys that he did not have any guarantee that I would pay for his work done- no ID recorded, no nothing. He told me that his boss would text message me with the amount due, and I just need to bank transfer; and he just left! These small surprises continued over the few days, and I felt almost culture shocked and exhausted. Who would have thought a move could teach you a lesson? But nevertheless, I am content.
